Increase your self-esteem by understanding the human drive system (1 minute read)
This post “Increase your self-esteem by understanding the human drive system” continues with how you can increase your self-esteem by listening to your feelings.
Increase your self-esteem by understanding the human drive system:
As mentioned in earlier posts, one of the characteristics of feelings is that they each correspond to behavioural and motivational impulses that are important for our survival and for signaling our human needs to us.
Panksepp has identified three types of major emotional systems with different functions. These three systems are based on research on emotions/feelings.
The second system is the incentive and resource-seeking drive and excitement system.
This system gives positive feelings that guide, motivate and encourage us to seek for resources with the aim to improving our life. The feelings that drive this system are curiosity, interest, joy and excitement.
