– Thoughts are NOT true in themselves – only perspectives and interpretations
– Thoughts need to be questioned and reflected upon
– Thoughts can change and they can be reinterpreted
– Thoughts can be self-criticizing but also be disarmed by the voice of an inner friend saying what we would say to comfort a friend or a child with the same problems, that is changing perspectives.

Taking control over your feelings, so called affect regulation, is an important factor for better self-care, in particularly for calming shame, anxiety and fear by changing focus to compassion as well as well-coming and validating feelings.
